The Premium wines of the Uco Valley

Bodegas Salentein is a pioneer in Premium wine making in the Uco Valley. The perfect conditions of the region for the grapes’ growth, combined with the unique qualities of its plantations -located between 1.050 and 1.700 meters (3.500 and 5.600 feet) above sea level-, and its five different microclimates, give as a result wines of exceptional characteristics.

LUXURY RANGE

The luxury range wines of Bodegas Salentein are well-structured and elegant, characterized for their deep colors and rich and complex aromas and flavors. All wines are aged in French oak barrels.

Salentein, the pioneer bodega in the Uco Valley, presents its iconic wine Salentein Gran Valle de Uco Blend, a Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon mixture that reflects the essence of Uco Valley’s terroir. It is a limited edition that synthesizes the wine-making philosophy of its enologist José Galante, who has produced some of the best Argentinian wines, and the visionary and enterprising spirit of Mijndert Pon, founder of Bodegas Salentein and pioneer of the Uco Valley.

A wine that expresses the best of Valle de Uco and summarizes the wisdom of Joseph Galante with the visionary spirit of Mijndert Pond.

Bodegas Salentein’s iconic wine, manufactured with grapes of the vineyards that express the best soil adaptation and that come from selected plots of our plantations of diverse heights. It’s a limited edition that is produced only in harvests where wines of exceptional quality are obtained.

Chardonnay

Bodegas Salentein, pioneer bodega in the production of Premium wines in the Uco Valley, presents its new wine line “Salentein Single Vineyard”, 100% varietal wines that come from a unique plot of Salentein’s plantation in the most elevated area of Uco Valley.

“The knowledge of Salentein in this soil, achieved throughout almost two decades, is the basis of these Single Vineyard that come from small quarters, which have stood out over the years for offering wines with a strong personality and varietal expression that makes them unique”, says José Galante, Bodegas Salentein’s Chief Winemaker.

SALENTEIN BARREL SELECTION

Varietals from our estates that are located between 1050 and 1700 meters, with stony, wide temperature range, excellent sun exposure and pure water from melting Andes gives us ideal conditions for producing wines that are the ultimate expression of the Valley Uco. Varietal: Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

Varietals coming from our plantations located between 1.050 and 1.700 meters (3.500 and 5.600 feet) above sea level, with stony soils, great temperature variation, ideal solar exposure and pure Andes meltwater, which provide the perfect conditions for making wines that are the maximum expression of Uco Valley.

Wine with substantial typicity and concentration; endowed with a softness that adds to its graceful and typical character.

It is a yellow-greenish wine with steely glares, clean and bright.

YOUNG RANGES

This concept embodies Bodegas Salentein’s philosophy of making Premium Wines, with a young and modern personality, and the prevalence of fresh fruit flavors and aromas resulting from the high altitude of the valley. They are innovative lines that stand out for their bright and deep colors and their friendliness.

Just like an artist uses different colors of his palette to paint his work, our enologists select grapes of different frames for manufacturing the Killka wine. This new line stands out for its fruity character, good structure and varietal expression, which is obtained when 100% varietal wines are produced by making selected cuts from different heights and soils, reaching the best expression of the terroir. Varietals: Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

PORTILLO WINES

Portillo wines take their name from the historic mountain passage that connects the Andes with the Uco Valley, traversed by San Martín in its liberating deed, and then by the scientist Charles Darwin. Today, Portillo is also the best way to access through the wine to the fascinating terroir of Uco Valley. Portillo, a young and distinguished wine, which expresses in each one of its fresh varietals, the color, the aromas, and a special flavor given by Bodegas Salentein’s tradition, with a personal and unique style. This line belongs to the third production ring of the Bodega.
